THE CHATEAU LIFE rebeccalaurey.com

A dream. Like really. From the moment driving up the driveway we felt like we were in a fairytale. We've been wanting to visit Normandy for years now, and were planning on extending our Northern France trips (visiting family) a couple of times but never got around to actually doing it. The area has so much history, the stunning and picturesque landscapes have had quite a lot to endure in the past 150 years only. It's definitely a must visit area for many reasons. And if you get yourself out there, stay at Chateau La Cheneviere. It's a small luxury hotel on quite a big piece of land. A beautiful garden full of blooming roses and a beautiful pool area. Next to that they have a tennis court, two bars and two restaurants. A courtyard restaurant and a stunning, classic French restaurant inside the main building providing you with delicious food. And with delicious I mean DELICIOUS. We tried the tasting menu and pairing, so yum. On Sunday we ordered one of their take away picknicks and picked a spot in the garden to enjoy this chateau life to the fullest. The hotel also provides bikes to explore the area, but unfortunately we didn't get to use them because our schedule was so full of visiting the D-Day sights that required us to use the car. Our room was on the top floor, in the attic, and was beautiful and spacious. We had three windows looking out over the gardens, we spent quite some time just dreaming away sitting on the window sill. If we were not in the #goals tub that graced our "open bathroom". Nothing but good, and I definitely don't say this about every hotel I stay at. Traveling the world both professionally and privately for years, not to boast, I've stayed at many different properties all over the globe. So with that I've learned what I do and don't appreciate at hotels, and every once in a while you come across one that just ticks all your boxes.
